Edgeblending

Edgeblending

Multiple projectors can be used together to display a single image source, by each projecting a part of the final image.

This allows for very bright and high-resolution projection, since the projectors’ performance is combined. The projected images overlap; this causes visible banding across the display. Edge blending gradually fades out the video signal from one projector through the banded zone, while the adjacent projection or “channel” is faded up – eliminating banding.
